Africa is the new land of opportunity.
Africa is growing, with foreign investment, infrastructure projects, and commodities exports contributing to 4.5% GDP growth for the continent in 2015. The competition for talent and labor is increasing in markets throughout Africa. Employers need efficient tools to find and recruit the talent they need to grow. Workers need tools to market their skills and experience, and build their personal brands.
The ATM Talent Cloud will address these challenges. The Talent Cloud is an open, web- and app-based marketplace for connecting workers and employers, both for formal, permanent employment and also for short-term tasks. From laborers to PhDs, from startups to multinational corporations, the Talent Cloud is a multifaceted platform that allows both workers and employers to promote themselves and discover opportunities to work together.
Social
Talent Cloud is the social network for work in Africa. Individuals will build professional profiles, showcasing their education, work history, accomplishments, references and endorsements.
Employers will build their profiles to showcase their organization and opportunities. Sharing and Messaging will empower workers and employers at every level to learn, grow and connect.
OPEN
Talent Cloud is an open toolbox for others to build their solutions. We work with multiple mobile payment platforms, social networks, search engines, and messaging platforms. Through our open architecture, we will become a building block for others to extend Talent Cloud into new areas.
TRUSTED
Talent Cloud provides the tools to build trust between workers and employers. Both parties can rate each other. Peers can upvote and downvote ratings to tap into the wisdom of the collective. Transparent ratings and feedback build reputation, confidence and trust.
Mobile
Talent Cloud is built for mobile, both smartphones and traditional SMS-based mobile phones. Getting the right information to the right person at the right time is critical for time-sensitive opportunities.
ATM is seeking investors and partners that are focused on emerging market opportunities. Our strategy is pan-continental, covering all of the continent’s 54 countries.
To start, we intend to roll out the Talent Cloud in Kenya--the continent's most technologically advanced market--and by Year 2 expand to four additional countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.
